The works have always been that inner journey to find truth and authentic beauty. This recent series is a continuation of that, My inspiration came from two quotes - the first one by Rumi and the second one unknown. "Your task is not to seek for love, but merely to seek and find all the barriers within yourself that you have built against it." "We have become identified with the safety of the armour but it is this very identification which blocks our love." This lead me to incorporating metal leaf to the works as the element of armour. The patina ages it, as the metal appears to be eroding away. These are spiritual works from my own awakening and desire to step into my authentic self.
